My School Day at the Barn

Hey guys I just wanted to give you an update on what's going on. I just started school on Tuesday. I wanted to show y'all what I have been doing. So this blog post is going to be about the horse part of my schooling! I go every Wednesday and I stay for about 4 hours! I have to clean stalls,clean troughs, clean the poop off the trail, feed the horses, groom the horses so my teacher Serena can ride them, put horses in turnout. I also get to free lunge two of the horses, give treats, and sometimes I get to help exercise Jewel! (One of my favorites!) I got to ride BAREBACK yesterday! It was my first time ever!! And a bonus was that as soon as I mounted my Mama pulled up so she got to watch me ride!!! I had so much fun! And I hope to get to do it again soon!!

John & Chris

Today I am going to tell you about my friends John & Chris! They have a dog named Kea.We are going to take care of her for 10 days starting Sunday! I can't wait! John & Chris have brought so much into my life since we have met them! The funny thing is that we met by me asking to throw  Kea's ball! Ever since we have been friends! Once John gave me a Sharks hockey stick used by the backup goalie! His company works at the Sharks stadium.  His crew even repainted the Shark head!! John has a great sense of humor! Chris is so much fun to be around! She is a GREAT cook! One time she went out to their beach house to meet their gardener. While she was there she went to my favorite ice cream shop & got me my favorite Lavender ice cream!! ( I ate the whole pint in two days!!) They even on the 4th of July took us to see fireworks!! I have not seen fireworks in like 3 years! It was so exciting!! It was soooo cool! I am so glad glad that I have become friends with them! They have brought so much into my life! I am so glad to have met them!

New School Year!!!

Hello! Are you excited for the new school year? I sure am! I might be homeschooled, but I can't wait to do things like studying horses, finishing botany and starting a yoga class! I also can't wait to go to my nature class on mondays!!! The classes that I take are one of the many things I love about being homeschooled! Ok, so what I want you to do is in the comments put as many teachers that you can remember and what grade they taught you in! Make sure not to put your school name or anything like that! I will start! In 4k I had a teacher named Mrs Danielle. In kindergarten my teacher's name was Mrs Coston! In 1st my teacher's name was Mrs Hammers! In 2nd my teacher's name was Miss Mac! In 3rd - 5th my teacher has been Mrs Traci! ( That's my Mama)! Are you looking forward to the new school year? Also, put if you go to a private school, public school, homeschooled, or any other type of school! I am sooo excited!! I hope you are too!

My First Horse Show

Last Friday I had my first horse show. I got second place in my group. I think that is pretty good for my first horse show! Since my group was last in the entire show me and my friends were the ribbon runners. That means that we got the score piece of paper from the judge and gave it to the announcer. Then the announcer would add up the points and then announce the winners. Each group had at least three people and at most five. My group had three including me. And the announcer is my teacher when I go to lessons. And it was kind of funny that all of us in group six are in her class on Thursday at 7:00 pm. So we knew each other. It was kind of fun getting judged by someone other than my teacher. My horse's name was Radier. He is a Paint Horse. I was freaking out because Radier kept picking up the wrong lead on the canter! But I enjoyed it so much! And the best part is that my friends John and Chris came to watch me ride! I am so grateful they came and supported me in my first horse show! It was so much fun and I would do it again in a minute. I can't wait for next year and I am going to keep working and get first place next year! I hope I keep learning to be a better rider! And Thank you again John and Chris for coming! Bye!

Lorraine's Story

Hey y'all! I decided to tell you the story of Lorraine. So here it is!
A contractor was doing the last check through a house his crew was about to knock down in Texas and looked in a closet and found Lorraine hairless and pregnant. He picked her up and took her to the vet. She licked his arm the hole car ride. Three days later she gave birth to six puppies. Sadly only four lived. And two died.  They said she cried when they took the puppies away. After that a old women fostered her for a few months. The women could not take care of her for long. So they called Best Friends Animal Society. "BFAS" It is a non profit society that go's around the USA and saves animals. Like horses, dogs, cats, bunnies, birds, and so much more! There motto is "Save Them All" You can volunteer at any BFAS locations! We went to Utah last summer and volunteer and fell in love with Lorraine! The care takers had put Lorraine in a kennel because they said she was being rambunctious! They told my family that after we cleaned her run we could let her out. So we let her out and went to clean the other runs. After we were done they said we could say hello to a few dogs if we wanted. We went back to Lorraine's run to see her run mate Buddy. He had unformed eyes and had trouble seeing. So we went into the run to read to him. Lorraine would not go unnoticed! She was digging at my mama's pocket to try and get treats! She even knocked me down giving me kisses! :) We also noticed the she had a limp. When we left she went out side and looked at my daddy in the car. My daddy was not sure what to do. So he did two things, one he asked the landlords to see if it was ok. Then he put a adoption form for Lorraine. After a few nervous days to the landlords said... YES!!! We were so excited! So the next day we went to the four corners then off to BFAS! When we made it to BFAS Lorraine pulled the trainer all the way to where we were standing! She was jumping and her tail was waging like crazy! It was like she had known all along that we were going to take her home! Then we jumped in the car to go home! She has a great personality and is so crazy! I am so glad she is apart of my family and that my family gave her a second chance at life!

Horseback Riding

Hi y'all! If you read my last blog you know I love horseback riding! It is so much fun! I am doing a riding show this Friday! And I can not wait! It will be my first riding show. I have been taking lessons for a little over a year. Right now I am working on my canter. For my warmup I am doing half seat, sitting the trot, double posting, and posting, each way, all at the trot. I also have to tighten the girth and check the stirrups. Then mount after a tack check were my teacher checks the girth. I'm not aloud to trot until everyone has mounted. Then you do the warmup. After the end of the lesson since my class is the last lesson of the day we have to untack the horses we rode during the lesson. I enjoy doing it. It is one of my favorite days of the week! It is the one day each week I get to ride and be around horses! I am hoping one day I will own my own horse! The horse's name would be Willow. My teacher gives me a different horse each week. Some of my favorites are Elmo, Rey, and my first favorite Raider! Raider is a Palomino horse. I love horses and hope you do too! Thanks for reading!

Hi y'all. My name is Mia. I am from Alabama, but right now I live in California. I have lived in CA for three years. I love how you can do so many things here! You can go to San Francisco, the beach, Yosemite National Park, Pinnacles National Park and so much more! I love horseback riding, reading, hiking, and exploring new places! I have a brother named Oliver, My mama's name is Traci and my daddy's name is Bobby. I have two dogs, two cats, and a guinea pig. My two dogs are named Missy and Lorraine. My two cats are Patches and Charlie. And the guinea pig's name is Smits. Missy is black, tan, and white. Lorraine is yellow and brown. I also love country and pop music.  I love to read. I read ALOT!!!! Right now I am reading a book called Throne Of Glass. It is a good book. I love the Harry Potter books! I have read 1-7. And I have watched all the movies! I love being homeschooled. I have been homeschooled for three years with my brother Oliver. My family has moved every summer since we have moved to CA. So I have lived in many places. My grandparents live in Alabama, but they come visit a lot! They are coming in one and a half weeks! I can't wait! I think I am going finish up here. I hope you will keep reading my blog!
